College Planning Cohorts (TM) is our national model for assisting students and families identifying the right colleges and right scholarships. Cohort registration provides required materials and unlimited access to assigned activities throughout the current calendar year. Through activities and assigned reading, cohort participation is designed to close the college knowledge gap and to assist any student in becoming a competitive college and scholarship applicant. Since introducing the College Planning Cohort (TM) Model at the Turner Chapel AME Church in Marietta, Georgia, cohort students have been awarded millions of dollars in scholarships, including 5 Gates Millennium Scholars, 2 Posse Foundation Scholars, and full scholarships to colleges and universities throughout the United States.
Cohort students have been offered admission to over 100 colleges and universities, including such institutions as Williams, Emory, Mercer, UGA, UNC-Chapel Hill, Davidson, Amherst, Howard, Xavier (LA), Spelman, Morehouse, Cornell, Kings College of London, Georgia Tech, Drexel, Clemson, USC-Columbia, Winston-Salem State, Tennessee State, James Mason, Washington and Lee, UNC-Wilmington Honors College, Jackson State, Pitt, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Claflin University Honors College, and the University of Alabama.
The cohort model has been recognized by Clemson University as a national dropout prevention model, and is being implemented by school districts in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Texas. While parents may register any student, the activities are primarily focused on assisting students and families in developing comprehensive 7-year middle-through-high school college-bound plans--plans that include scholarships, financial aid, and making the right college choice.
With private college admissions counselors charging between $2,000 and $30,000 to provide college planning guidance, Mychal Wynn's College Planning Cohort (TM) Model provides an affordable option for developing comprehensive college admissions and scholarship plans.
The registration fee and activity access entitle students to a complimentary set of the required materials and free access to assigned activities:
- Show Me the Money: Scholarships, Financial Aid, and Making the Right College Choice (digital download)
- A High School Plan for Students with College-Bound Dreams: Workbook
- College Planning Notebook
- College-Bound Backpack
After confirming payment for your semester registration, your student will be enrolled in the appropriate Google Classroom. Your account will be coded for a 20% discount on all product purchases (registrations are excluded).
