Overview: The three lessons in this activity are designed to guide your efforts in identifying awards and other areas of recognition for which you may qualify. There are many opportunities for involvement in clubs and student organizations that award cords, hoods, pins, or Kenté Coth, to be adorned at your high school’s commencement exercises. Other opportunities may include special recognition or scholarships. These opportunities may not be highly publicized, but could significantly reaffirm your branding, enhance your résumé, and based on when the recognition is awarded, positively influence college admissions or scholarship decisions. There are also many types of formal recognition opportunities for the vast array of gifts, talents, and areas of interest. Some opportunities may be discovered as a research of your research, while other opportunities may be created as a result of your ingenuity.
