One of the most significant intangibles affecting college choice and financial aid is that of undocumented students. Due to ongoing changes in federal law, differences in state laws, and differences in institutional financial aid policies among colleges and universities, such students absolutely must engage in substantial research to ensure the best college choice and the best financial aid plan. Undocumented students must speak with the financial aid officers at each of the colleges on their list regarding admissions and financial aid policies as they pertain to the student’s immigration status.
